Power Beyond the CIS: Votes limit speech. Act as individuals, engage the whole community.

When we really think about it, how much does does a Neighborhood Council’s Community Impact Statement (CIS) move the needle in City Hall? More than 10 constituents calling into the councilmember’s office? In this thought leadership session, we invite a "rethink" of how NCs are run and how they serve their communities. What if we were to go out, find partners, engage the community, tell people what's going on Downtown, give them the tools (and power) to take on the City on their own?

Speakers:

Doug Epperhart, Coastal San Pedro Neighborhood Council*
Tony Wilkinson, Panorama City NC*
Joe Matthews, Zócalo Public Square
Pamela Gibberman, Panorama City NC*
